The boot meets the requirements of both ascent and descent in mixed and technical terrain. For this, the Mountain Trainer Mid GTX uses a new midsole with Bilight technology. It is double-layered for high cushioning and ergonomically shaped - for good grip in the shoe and reliable wearing comfort even on long hikes.
In the ankle area, the Flex Collar allows increased freedom of movement to the rear and thus a lot of comfort on the descent, even with a heavy pack. The lightweight, firm Vibram® Wrapping Thread Combi (WTC) outsole provides a stable yet natural walking feel. The patented SALEWA 3F system provides flexibility, heel hold and a blister-free fit from the start. The GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort lining provides optimal weather protection and climate comfort.

Gore-Tex®
In technical apparel, GORE-TEX® fabrics are at the forefront of waterproofing, breathability and durability. The GORE-TEX® membrane is completely waterproof and windproof, while allowing evaporated perspiration to pass through to the outside. The membrane is made of pores (1.4 billion pores per square centimeter) that are 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water but 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule, so water can't penetrate but the skin can breathe. Durability was tested in the laboratory by simulating the most extreme atmospheric conditions.
