A comfortable GORE-TEX® approach shoe with a versatile sole: The Wildfire 2 GORE-TEX® by Salewa

Salewa made the Wildfire 2’s precise-fitting upper from robust, recycled mesh and reinforce it with a network of Kevlar cables that wraps the foot for flexibility, fit and enhanced torsional stability and heel support. What’s more, the Wildfire 2 switches quickly and easily from hiking mode to climbing mode using the SALEWA® Switchfit adjustment system. The result: better edging and smearing and overall security on technical terrain. Moreover, the Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) provides a customizable fit, for a more narrow or wider comfort.

To cope with tougher weather, the Wildfire GTX has a GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining to provide waterproof and breathable protection. The Pomoca Speed MTN outsole has a climbing zone at the toe and aggressive tread lugs for good traction on mud and softer terrain, while its S-Path technology ensures a more natural roll-off. And the sticky POMOCA rubber provides good friction in both dry and wet conditions.

Technology

Gore-Tex®
In technical apparel, GORE-TEX® fabrics are at the forefront of waterproofing, breathability and durability. The GORE-TEX® membrane is completely waterproof and windproof, while allowing evaporated perspiration to pass through to the outside. The membrane is made up of pores (1.4 billion pores per square centimeter) that are 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water but 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule, so water can't penetrate but the skin can breathe. Durability has been tested in the laboratory by simulating the most extreme atmospheric conditions.

Pomoca®
Description Pomoca® Gliding Path supports the natural s-shaped rolling movement of the foot. A special s-shaped lug construction, the gliding path, provides a smooth rolling motion and reduces deformation energy. A traction zone next to the glide path provides grip on varying terrain due to the lug structure.
