Northwave's boldness finds its maximum expression in the upper. It was created as a challenge: can mechanical resistance and minimum bulk be offered in a single shoe? Northwave Lab won the challenge by constructing a hidden frame: invisible, minimal but strong and resistant. With immediate comfort. The super-light structure internally lined with microfibre favours the passage of air. The microfilm applied to certain strategic points of the upper ensures further rigidity. The 3D mesh has been chosen for its hexagonal cell construction which guarantees ventilation and stability.
The details are not "just details". Not for the Northwave Lab that created the Breathing Shield System, an innovative tongue concept as a functional element for the protection and ventilation of the foot. The internal material has a micro-perforated design to ensure the shoe has additional aeration surfaces, without compromising the typical resistance of the material EVA. The carbon sole with a stiffness index of 12 and the midsole are equipped with real micro vents that take advantage of the ventilation force of air while running to combat the heat of the hottest summer days with full ventilation of the foot, including the sole.

Technologies
Arch Support®
Not all feet are the same, not even on the same person. The main difference is the conformation of the arch, and ensuring you’ve got the correct support is essential for avoiding tendinitis or plantar fasciitis. A customised arch support on its own doesn’t provide enough support, while technical soles with built-in support can be too extreme and cause discomfort or injury. Northwave has combined the benefits of both solutions by ironing out their flaws and creating a first for the market: the exclusive patented Anatomical Arch Support® technology. This TPU arch support is externally integrated between the sole and the upper. TPU is not as stiff as the carbon in the sole and this allows the shoe to adapt to the arch of the foot, which gets the best possible support during movement and exercise. Maximum precision and usability. The side button offers dual functionality: press the button for micrometric release, or lift the button to instantly undo the shoe completely. The ergonomic shape of the ratchet base matches the shape of the foot for added comfort, while the size and minimized weight plus the outer soft-touch covering make it easier and better to grip. It features wires that harness the best technologies used in sailing, and can be easily replaced.
