What is Carbotecture?
In the sensitive motorcycle and bicycle industry, MAGURA stands for the highest quality, reliability and sophisticated components thanks to its own production in Germany. With the development of special materials and processes such as Carbotecture® and Carbolay®, we have made designs and constructions possible that no other manufacturer can realize. At our production and assembly sites in Hülben and Hengen, in close proximity to the original factory in Bad Urach, we have established an extremely effective quality assurance system. Lightweight, very stable and at the same time absolutely reliable function over many years - for our MAGURA brakes we realize these aspects with several plastics developed in-house. To call them plastic would be a real insult.

We see ourselves as the architects of our materials: this is how our basic material Carbotecture®, a combination of carbon and architecture, came about. A mixture of high-tech polymers and carbon or glass fibers is transformed into a plastic granulate in several complex processes. During the manufacturing process from this granulate to the finished component, the carbon fibers are optimally aligned to the load requirements. With this Carboflow process, any desired shape can be created from the granulate by injection molding. Compared to the classic lightweight material aluminum, our Carbotecture® offers significant advantages: With identical tensile and breaking strength to aluminum, Carbotecture® is 50% lighter, so it only weighs half as much! Carbotecture® is a dream material, but only thanks to our highly developed machines and processes: smooth surfaces in all complex shapes are possible. This is how our stiff yet lightweight brake levers are created. BMW also relies on the special properties of Carbotecture® for its motorcycles, and the clutch master cylinder of the BMW GS is also made from this material.

With our Carbotecture SL® material, we increase this resistance while simultaneously reducing weight by incorporating medium-length carbon fibers into the polyamides instead of short ones. The brake levers of our award-winning MT disc brake series are made of Carbotecture® and Carbotecture SL®.

Another material is Carbolay®, which is produced in a fully automated process. The carbon fibers are positioned according to load using a textile process and impregnated with resin fully automatically in a mould. This allows brake levers to be produced in Carbolay® in an attractive and ergonomically optimized form: Perfect finger force transmission thanks to high rigidity combined with low component weight.

Tolle Bremse und dank der HC 1 Finger Hebel kamen sie auch überhaupt in betracht. Ich weiß nicht was sich Magura sonst bei diesen riesigen Hebeln denkt? Muss bei dem Anblick immer an Motorradbremsen denken. Der MT5 Sattel packt in Verbindung mit der 203er Scheibe ordentlich zu. Hinten muss ich mich erst an die schwächere Bremsleistung gewöhnen. Man merkt den Unterschied schon deutlich trotz 180er Scheibe an dem MT4 Sattel. Auf dem Trail ist es aber angenehm weil sich dadurch die hintere Bremse super Dosieren lässt. Vor allem bei den nassen und rutschigen Bedingungen kommt das zugute. Manuals und Wheelies lassen sich somit auch super dosieren. Hinten werde ich schauen ob sich dieBremsleistung mit den Race Belägen erhöhen lässt, und zur Not kommt ein 203er Scheibe dran. An all meinen Rädern waren bisher Sram Bremsen dran (Code, Guide RS). Mit denen ich über die Dauer nie zufrieden war. Ständig Luft oder Wasser im System und somit keine konstante Bremskraft möglich. Ich hoffe und denke die Problem sind mit der Magura passé dank des Mineralöls.

Great brake for this price!

Great break set for an incredible price! There's not much left to say about the MT5's performance. This Trail Sport set with the MT4 rear break is even better in my opinion. It comes with the much more practical 1-finger levers, weighs less and distributes the front/rear break performance in a more logical way. Yes, it takes time getting used to since you'll expect the rear break to be much more sensitive than the front. But once you figured it out, it works so perfectly that you start to question all other, equally distributed breaking systems. It's also super easy to install, even for newbies like me.

Very good brakes, bought for street trial bike. Also very easy to cut hose, just check magura video on youtube.

Die Montage der Magura ist echt einfach, auch das kürzen der Leitung und entlüften ganz easy. Auch für einen der nicht jeden Tag am Fahrrad bastelt. Die Bremswirkung ist auch zu meinen Alten Bremsen (Tektro) viel besser und angenehmer. Man kann super dosieren. Was den Langzeittest angeht werde ich noch nach fügen, aber denke würd auch Positiv ausfallen. Denn alles ist besser als meine vorherigen Bremsen ;-)

Super Bremse! Allerdings nur in Verbindung mit Shimano XT-Scheiben. Mit den original Magura-Scheiben ratterte die Bremse wie das ABS beim Auto. Mit den XT-Scheiben läuft sie einwandfrei.

Sehr kraftvoll, vermisse auch hinten keine Bremskraft. Einstellen geht gut, die kurzen Hebel liegen gut am Finger. Entlüften geht recht einfach, war nach Leitungskürzen nötig. Die eingebauten Beläge an der MT5 vorn sind allerdings blöd zu wechseln. Werde die gegen die 8P tauschen, wenn verschlissen.

Verbaut an einem XC Hardtail ist die Hniterbremse sehr gut dosierbar, die Vorderbremse ist ein Wurfanker. Einbau, Leitung kürzen und entlüften war absolut problemlos. Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen

Super Bremse und dank der 1 Finger Hebel.Der MT5 Sattel packt in Verbindung mit einer 203 Scheibe bissig zu. Die Hinterrad Bremse mit dem MT4 Sattel ist sehr gut dosierbar. Einbau der Bremse sehr einfach, die Leitung zu kürzen und entlüften war absolut problemlos. die Bremse Magura MT Trail absolut empfehlenswert.

Great brakes until you fall and break one lever off. In a benign fall on a wet trail, with break levers loosely tightened to freely rotate, one lever hit a rock and completely broke off nonetheless. A day on the trails ruined. I'll install shimano levers and upgrade to "Shigura" :)

Ich habe die Bremsen zusammen mit den Magura Storm SL2 Bremsscheiben gekauft. Fährt sich bis jetzt super und reibungslos. Mit etwas Vorkenntnis und handwerklichem Geschick ist die Montage und Entlüften mithilfe des Magura Service-Kits auch in Eigenarbeit möglich. Ich habe für den Einbau (inklusive Bremsleitung durch den Rahmen fädeln) mit Entlüften ca anschließendem Entlüften ca 2,5h gebraucht.

Top Bremse für einen top Preis.

Buena calidad precio. Después de un uso intenso y largo puedo decir que son buenos en gama media para un uso trail. Positivo: frenada progresiva y buena resistencia a la fatiga (tengo discos de 180mm). Maneta muy ergonómica y fácil de usar con un dedo. No he tenido que purgarlos en ningún momento con un uso intenso que les doy. Negativo: Hace falta tener fuerza en el antebrazo en bajadas largas pues aunque la maneta no cede ni un milímetro si que se nota la fuerza que hay que hacer durante largas bajadas. Las pastillas delanteras duran poco a pesar de ser doble pistón. Tienes que llevar dos juegos de pastillas de repuesto, puesto que delante es doble pistón y atrás uno.

amazing power and modulation, high class brakes at a low price

Sehr gute Trail Bremse !!. Ich habe die Bremse an einem neuen Bike verbaut an dem eine SRAM G2 RS war. Ich kann nur sagen das Sie leichter ist und ein besseres Gefühl gibt und vor allen vorne mehr Power hat. Die Leistung vorne ist super und man hat stets eine gute Kontrolle. Nach der XT Bremse die beste die ich jeweils hatte. Hinten muss man schon sagen das die Power geringer ist, aber immer mehr als gut. Daher eine super Kombination die Sinn und Verstand hat. Der Einbau und das Leitungskürzen war mit dem Magura Kit und die YouTube Videos sehr leicht. och dazu Made in Germany und sichert Arbeitsplätzte. Klare Kaufempfehlung für diesen super Preis !!

Ich fahre die Bremse nun über 3 Jahre und bin vollkommen zufrieden, mein Setup besteht aus Shimano RT86 203mm Scheiben und den Performance Belägen, die Bremsleistung ist hervorragend und sehr gut dosierbar, selbst im bikepark kein überhitzen oder fading. Als Tip für fahrer die immer mal wieder mit fading zu kämpfen haben, Ich nutze das trickstuff bionol welches temperatur beständig bis 380grad ist und Biologisch abbaubar.
