Fully automatic shifting
You can use fully automatic shifting by combining either our DU-E6001 or DU-E6010 SHIMANO STEPS drive unit with the Di2 internal gearhub. Based on cadence and speed, the SHIMANO STEPS system automatically tells the Di2 hub what gear to shift into. So while you pedal, the drive unit brainstorms and decides to temporarily reduce chain tension so the hub can change to the right gear. In plain English, that means a smoother riding experience because you won’t be breaking a sweat about whether you’re in the right gear or not. You’ll realise right away how great automatic shifting is if you’re not a comfortable shifter or when you need to come to an abrupt halt. In fact, SHIMANO STEPS will automatically shift down to a lower gear as you stop at traffic lights, for example, and give you that extra surge when the lights go green again for an easy start.- Manufacturer number: ISWE6000A1L

I like this switch unit. This is supplied as standard on Bakfiets electric Cruiser (Steps E6100). I'm upgrading my rear wheel to an Alfine-11 Di2 hub, and adding a second switch for gear shifting. Note 1: The switch has a built-in ~35 cm long EW-SD50 electric wire, as far as I can tell it's not removable. You don't need to buy another wire separately. If your cycle computer is a newer model with EW-SD300 ports, you will need an EW-AD305 adapter. Note 2: The switch comes with a set of three rubber bands to secure the wire to the handlebar. You don't need to buy this separately, even though it's available here: SW-E6000 STEPS/Di2 Cord Band Unit Set Item №20074782.
